Chemical Peel

Chemical peels are a great option for those desiring a non-surgical approach to a more refreshed, youthful look to their skin. This technique treats skin damage caused by the sun (brown spots, discoloration), wrinkles, acne scars and pre-cancerous blemishes.

These treatments vary in depth and intensity, depending on the extent on the skin problem needing remedy. Mild sun damage can be treated with the light chemical peel, also used for preventative skin care, whereas the deeper peels are needed to combat more severe skin damage caused by the sun or aging.

Medium & Deep Chemical Peels

Patients with brown spots, moderate wrinkles, mild acne scars and uneven skin coloration can benefit from the popular medium chemical peel. The most common of these peels are the 30% to 35% TCA (trichloroacetic acid) peels and the straight 89% phenol peel.

Patients are fully healed in under a week though mild irritation (redness) may linger for 4 to 6 weeks. The medium peel can be repeated for increased effect on deeper wrinkles.

Our deeper peels are used to treat mild to severe wrinkles and more pronounced acne scars. These peels include the Hetter Peel, the Baker-Gordon phenol peel and the modified Baker-Gordon peels.

If excessive skin exposure does not persist, an individual will find the results of a deep chemical peel to last a lifetime.

Twilight anesthesia is used for patients receiving medium and deep peels. Ointments and creams are given to patients for at-home care following the procedure.
