About The Procedure
A thigh lift utilizes liposuction technology to improve the contours of the thighs through the removal of excess skin and the repair of deep thigh tissue. An inner thigh lift involves an incision to the groun area and under the buttocks, whereas an outer thigh lift would require an incision above the hips and buttocks.
Patients are placed under general or epidural anesthesia during a thigh lift procedure.
Recovery
When the procedure is complete, the area is wrapped with dressings and an elastic pressure garment is used to support the skin as it heals. Occasionally drains are used temporarily to reduce fluid buildup.
Patients are usually advised to spend an overnight before returning home. Recovery time is about seven to ten days. Patients should abstain from heavy exercise for four to six weeks.
