If you knew you could get rid of your double chin without surgery, would you be interested to find out more? Well, then meet Kybella, the first and only FDA-approved nonsurgical treatment that destroys fat cells below the chin, eliminating a double chin forever.
How does Kybella work?
Kybella’s active ingredient, deoxycholic acid, is injected under the skin and the chin and is one of the fat emulsifiers found in our bodies that breakdown ingested fats. The fat cells near the injection site are permanently eliminated and assuming that you maintain a healthy diet and regular exercise, new fat cells won’t replace the ones that have been destroyed with the treatment.
Am I a Good Candidate for Kybella?
Men and women who have tried to achieve slimmer facial features through diet and exercise but have not had the kind of results they want may be ideal candidates for Kybella. If you have mild to moderate submental fullness (double chin) and good skin elasticity, Kybella could be a great treatment for you. Patients with more advanced submental fullness or poor skin elasticity are often better served with submental liposuction, facelift, or necklift.
Of course the best way to find out if you’re a good match for this revolutionary treatment is to seek the advice of a professional. You can call our office at any time with questions or to set up a free consultation.
What Can I Expect if I Try this Treatment?
Kybella treatments are performed in-office and typically take between 15 and 20 minutes, making them quick and convenient. Most patients need 2 – 4 sessions, each about 6 weeks apart.
The area is numbed with ice and a specially formulated numbing cream and then a series of injections are made with a very fine needle.
Most patients experience some temporary swelling that subsides within 3 – 7 days.
What Results Can I Expect?
You can expect to see an improvement in submental definition within 1 – 2 months.
